: OK, decided on saturday afternoon to head out on the road for Pullman, WA to visit some friends. 300+miles away from home in seattle and extremely flat and boring after getting through the mountains. my littel red '02 kicked ass to say the least. not one problem anywhere to report, even oil consumption was normal, and fuel effeciency was amazing. it took me about 4 hours to make the whole journey only stopped for gas, and the cruising RPM's were steady at about 4300-4700. the sound from my engine was loud enough to keep me awake, i didnt even need my cd player. made it there safely and spent some good times with some old friends i hadnt seen in awhile. all in all a very successful weekend for me. all the hicks and other motorists were very puzzled to see a 30 year old car fly by them with such ease!! god i love my car!! well tell me/everyone else your favorite road trip in your '02 that you have ever had. thanks keep '02ing!!

Well now, it's been a few years, but I rebuilt the engine in the 02, and it had been broken in... I wanted to go on a road trip so I took it up to Lake Shasta from Sonoma County (300+M) to go to a friend's wedding.

It was a thing of beauty - there is a bypass on I-5 that takes you around metro Sacramento, called the 505; it's straight as an arrow. It was early, about 6:30 in the morning - the sky was blue as a baby's eyes and just as bright. There was nobody on the road. NOBODY. I stepped on it and took it up to 110+ and quickly took a picture of the speedo, damn near buried... The car ran fine and the sound of angels blended ever so gracefully singing in tune with my newly repowered flustern bomb...
