best road trip in the 68 was the day I bought her.
my and the wife, drove to Tulsa to look at a potential garage mate for the 71 Opel GT.
After 600 dollars, and a new battery, drove the 68
home to Dallas.
In freezing rain, sleet, and high winds... with no defrost, or heater.
Made the trip, (with the help of my buddy randomly dumping window de-icer on the window)
and impressed my wife. She had to maintain a constant 95 on the Indian Nation turnpike to keep up.
Regretably, I disscovered terminal rust over the 2 years that followed, so the 68 is no more.
But the engine and tranny live in an imaculate 71
p.s. it is a bleak, boring view, but the Indian Nation Trunpike out of Tulsa OK is a BLAST to take at high speed!
