Active noise cancellation in an '02? (archive)

Has anyone ever investigated the free-standing (as opposed to headphones) active noise cancellation systems to install in a vehicle? I've noticed that the headphone based systems have dropped in price to about $60. I also know that there are companies that specialize in designing a system for your airplane, but presume they are pretty expensive being custom and airplane related. The Infinity Q-45 and J's had a noise cancellation system as an option a few years ago. I bet it would do wonders to drown out my infernal ANSA. Any experiences or suggestions?
