Use new studs or wire brushed clean studs with OEM COPPER exhaust nuts. The newer type 318 integrated heat shield and gasket is highly recommended since it protects wires and elimnates the metal heat shield rattling. I prefer to use a thin coat of Permatex Copper high temp gasket sealer also. Also, the studs should be coated with a sealant or locktite before installing in head since it is common to have oil leak from the exhaust head studs and head.
