there is a group interested in an aluminum bracket for this that doesn't require the usual mounting method. If you are replacing your battery a recreation gel pack type (optima?) works well as you don't have to have a vented box. I had an old, wiped out trunk gasket that didn't seal very well so, anything in there that gives off odors (like, gas) would find its way into the pass. compartment.
Not very safe so, all that stuff needed to get fixed first. Now that its done, I'm ready for that bracket. No stinkin odors either.
Was it Jaymic that was the vendor?
Made one without a tray, and was going to do a short production run with trays. $130? (i hope, the piggy bank is a little skinny)
I have no idea where to run the cable but I suppose heavy duty grommets at the front firewall and separator in the rear. I was going to wait until I had the bracket in my paws before approaching the design of the installation. Certainly not under the car. Not close too to the fuel lines either.. Sort of want to revamp my fuel lines too but thats another post..
I was figuring a couple of suggestions from the board and, a little common sense, and voila! Did find some 4/0 cable and, am working on scoring some movie production lighting insulated pin connectors (a hard to find item but, cool) to complete the job.
