Hi R.B.,

When you say "squeaky rotational noise" does it sound like metal on metal. I just had my center bearing almost seize and the noise I got was distinctly bearing-like. My wife used to have an '83 RX-7. It's u-joints went and the resulting noise was more like an extremely loud resonant ping upon acceleration.

I had my center bearing, guibo, rear tranny and shifter seals replaced at a cost of about $275.
