Refinishing wheels, I'm thinking of purchasing BBS wheels which are gold and painting them silver with Wurth silver (my car is silver). To sandblast the wheels it is $20.00 each, but that is the entire wheel and there is a chance that the paint might not come off via the the sandblast, then comes the aircraft paint remover...toxic stuff to remove it. Has anyone just rough up the surfaces and painted the Wurth over it with good results and long lasting.
2nd question, results from leaving non-sandblasted Alum wheels, I know it doesn't rust(Aluminum Oxide??)
