roof removal has to be the last resort - unless you want a sunroof - it doesn't make a lot of sense. Personally a sunroof on a 2002 does not make a lot of sense either. I have enough problems dealing with all the wind and exhaust noise, besides one of the great thing about these cars is their simplicity. I agree with the solutions posted. Make sure the welder does not burn the headliner and remove the windshield or backglass if the work is nearby. Good luck
