: so your saying that i have to take the starter off to get to the bracket that holds the EGRline that runs under the intake? how hard is it to pull the starter, never done it.
: matt

: : : how do you get this piece of crap off? it seems that you have to take this off before you can get to the bolts on the intake? is this correct. i am having trouble here so if anyone could haelp, please
: : : matt

: : If memory serves me 10mm with a rubber bushing and washer form the top ?
: : Yes just looked ,top outside between the runners . Starter may have to come off . I took it off but then I shop a Omar's tents for my business wear.
: : the thin BMw box end wrechs are God send for the intake manifold.

remove the two bolts going through the bell housing then remove the bolts at the rear of the starter to the block/remove the wires also after removing the batt neg terminal before anything.
I desmogged a 74 2002 and a 76 ;just get that pipe off underneath any way you can without wrecking any thing else.I plugged the hole in the exhaust and the hole at the end of the intake with a plate and some good sealer.
While your at it you might want to take out the charcoal canister, plug the lines;the little evap tank in the trunk, plug the lines and just have the fuel line to the carb and thats all.
hope thats not too much(get that air pump off there too) good luck Brian C.

messy hands here;changing the intake on my 68 1600 to a 2bbl and putting a 32/36 on it
