That sounds like it could be a source of your problem. One thing you can do is turn off your key remove the Negative Battery cable put your volt meter between the battery and the battery post.You should read very little voltage. If there is a voltage reading that is high 4volts or higher start unplugging things. If you think it is in your ignition then fiddle with that.
