: I just bought a '75 2002 which has an air pump that is not currently hooked up, and a lot of the emision control tubing is rusted, corroded, broken, etc. Can I remove all of this and cap everything off at their origins? What would be the results of this? I am also having a problem with the car "lunging" when I have it in Drive and I have the breaks applied.. any ideas?

: thanks,

: Jason

If I am correct in assuming that you are in the seattle area; you dont need any of that smog garbage on your car at all.
I restored a 76 2002A recently and took all the smog equipment off of it also.
The only fuel line you need is the one coming through the firewall behind the cyl head; the return lines and the expansion tank in the trunk can go (just remember to plug all the hoses well so you dont have fumes inside the car.
Charcoal canister, airpump, etc take it off and save it in a box if its still any good.
Good luck Brian
ps on the intake manifold I just made a plate and capped off the hole at the end of it with a gasket between to keep it from leaking
