: : I just bought a '75 2002 which has an air pump that is not currently hooked up, and a lot of the emision control tubing is rusted, corroded, broken, etc. Can I remove all of this and cap everything off at their origins? What would be the results of this? I am also having a problem with the car "lunging" when I have it in Drive and I have the breaks applied.. any ideas?
: : thanks,

: If I am correct in assuming that you are in the seattle area; you dont need any of that smog garbage on your car at all.
: I restored a 76 2002A recently and took all the smog equipment off of it also.
: The only fuel line you need is the one coming through the firewall behind the cyl head; the return lines and the expansion tank in the trunk can go (just remember to plug all the hoses well so you dont have fumes inside the car.
: Charcoal canister, airpump, etc take it off and save it in a box if its still any good.
: Good luck Brian
: ps on the intake manifold I just made a plate and capped off the hole at the end of it with a gasket between to keep it from leaking
I am in the seattle area, in fact, I'm on vashon island, which doesn't require emissions testing at all... thank you for your help, I'll be tearing it all out soon...
