Raised grand piano style pistons and cam (archive)

I just bought an engine, and when I removed the e21 head I found raised grand piano style pistons. The words "Made in Germany" are found on top center of the piston. Any ideas on the manufacturer?

The cam has the factory marking of 2, but on the end with the timing chain I found a custom carving "HA 300". If the cam was ground, how could I tell?
