rear slapping noise heard (archive)

Greetings once again 2002-ologists!

I don't know if it's just my imagination but everytime it rains (and not very often here in soCAL)and I take out the ol' 76 02 for a spin I hear a "slapping" kind of noise coming under the back seat area when I pull away after a stop sign/red light. I checked my trunk to see if it was the spare tire, trunk floor panels, jacking tools, or my hard plastic milk crate with 2002 essentials and everything seems to be ok. Furthermore, I have checked my (new) exhaust system for looseness and (new) shocks. I have a new guibo (500 miles ago). The car doesn't have damaging rust so I know the car is structurally solid.

I am a little puzzled. Any comments/suggestions will be appreciated as always. TIA and happy 02ing!!
