My '75 has the ball bearing inbedded in, and the a few inches away the is a hash-mark, that the PO painted white, any ideas as to what it represents, and why he painted it white? And when timing, fromt the pass. side where should the bearing line up with, center top or bottom of the tranny hole? I think my dist. is toast, it seems I'm constantly retiming the thing, was suggested that maybe the springs that return it, after it advances under vaccuum are shot, should I upgrade to a mech. adv if this is the case?
