Not much of a help for the foggy gauges.

But if you're looking for leaks near the gauges
here's my tips, the heater is next to the wiper
motor and so exposed to the element and the iso-
lation is foam, probably inexistant by now.

Next the antenna bracket could leak but it's far
from the gauges, but just over the flasher relay.

The firewall grommet for the wires are just under
the drain trumpets so beware to look at them , but they are to low to affect you're gauges.

Not often, the windshield gasket if crakked or
dryed could let go some water to the inside.

Could be condensation from high humidity night.
Did the A/C was on?
