I didn't see heat shield on neither the 72 or 73

Maybe they didn't put any here in Canada , cause
self heating floor pan was a plus.

I think only the later model have them and if
the heat shield is under the domn pipe , I guess
it serve as a protector for not firing things
under the car, like dead leaves, ( it happened
to the first Rabbits, in the70th.
