I'm planning on this as well, although, I'm too lazy to do the drill and fill method, so I'll probably buy the kit from TEP at $85. Regarding the rear, don't shorten in... Unless it remains shock-active. Got tagged by a Mercury Mountaineer at a light the other day, and was glad the bumper shocks worked, otherwise I'd be on to '02 #3 by now!
