Running rear speaker wire (archive)

I'm having a CD player and speakers wired into my car tomorrow. The guy at the car stereo shop said they run the rear speaker wires down the passenger side of the car. I removed my passenger seat and rear seat bottom cushion to save some labor charges and noticed that there are fuel lines running down that side. Is it safe to put speaker wires next to them or should I have them run the wiring down the driver side where there is already other electrical wiring? Would the electical wiring interfere with the signals to the speakers?

TIA,

Ron
