I ran my speaker down the driver's side in my current '02. No real reason. You didn't mention which year '02 you had. You could also run them up the center next to the driveshaft tunnel. It takes some work to separate the carpet from the sheetmetal. I used a fishtape in my 1st '02 to do the job.
