Removing lower seal (archive)

As mentioned the seal comes out towards you. There is a seal pulling tool sold that works very well for this job and many different seals on the 2002. It is not expensive - about $10-15

It using a screwdriver just make sure that you do not nick the outside of the housing. Be sure to put some grease on the inside of the new seal also before installation.
