:
: I don't know about kicking the trunk (I'm sure its a Zen thing)... I'd rather drill out the lock and then use a blade to turn and open. I can sell you a used lock with a key for $15.00 US including shipping. You can install it yourself in under 30 minutes.

: Sorry that your car was broken into. It is quite a violation.

: for the drill route:
: : my car got broken into last night. i'm glad that the only thing they took was the cd deck and not the whole car. what i am not so happy about is that my locks have been punched through with screw drivers! the doors still open, but my trunk is no longer operable. can anybody give me advise on how to get the trunk open?

: : as always, thanks for the help.

I made a tool out of a skinny screwdriver bent so it would slip over the rear panel and reach in and pop the latch ( I was lucky to have a parts car to practice on) it didnt mess up the lock at all because the lock was perfect I didnt want to drill it out.
The car was just painted also and no scratches or anything except a little tiny blemish on the rubber trunk gasket.
I bent it so it was sort of a right angle at the tip and a U-shape to get over the rear panel and down a little, the tip must be bent a right angle to the left and go in on the pass side of the lock.
hope this makes sense, Brian
