Get a BMP short shift kit, because it comes also with a new rubber gizmo that fits in the top part of the shift lever taking up a lot of slop. These along with a little MTL (Redline) and you'll not beleive the nice shifting. IMHO of course.

Good suggestion MrBigDog I forgot to mention the bushings too.
Never tried the short shifter but may do it to the 1600 one of these days!
BTW what is the BOS after the 76 2002 BigDog?
