I have a 74 Tii with about 170 Hp (cam & compression & 45 sidedrafts & vented rotor upgrade). I returned from a drivers school lastnight at Roebling Road in Savanah Ga. The fastest place I have ever driven the car. The front straight is 2700 ft long and at the end my car is traveling between 115 and 120 as you enter the braking zone, to a fast 60 mph entry into turn 1. I drove 2 session in a row = 1 hour on the track with no fad or excessive paddle pressure. Then I packed up and called it a day (the car in front of me Rolled). Time to go home. The EBC Greenstuff pads were recommened by Jeff Ireland and he was right.
Good luck & Big Stopping
K.C.
PS: The pads work well cold and better hot and after 6 track sessions I used about 1/3 of the pads. With metal masters at Mid-Ohio I experienced fad after 20 min.
: I'm in the process of installing big brakes on my '02, using '77 320i vented rotors, '80 320i hubs, '83 240 series volvo calipers, and 530 master cylinder. 1)I'm wondering what pads I should use. My girlfriend has an '83 245 volvo that will throw you through the windshield if you lay your pinky toe on the brake pedal to hard( I consider this a good thing!). She just had a brake job ( not sure what kind of pads were installed) and her car squeels like a stuck pig. the mechanic told her that it was a characteristic of volvo brakes.
: 2) anyone put rear disc's on? What did you use? Do you need a proportioning valve?
