I will try to bring some points about coils-over
and probably confused you even more.

Coils-over, even if developped for racing, could
be tailored for street use.
All springs are 2 in diam. So they are rated has
lb/in 200lbs could be streetable.

The advantage are you can select any rates and
interchange them.
You have the choice of progr. or linear.
You can vary the height of the front from nearly
3 in.
But you have to shorten the struts tube, and use
the Rabbit inserts.
Coupled to a camber plate , you can adjust or
screwed your front suspension any wich way
you wanted

The desavantage is $$$$$$$$

MetricMecanic catalog give the procedure for
cutting the springs, don't take out to much.
