The problem I see with moving the carbs up to there is wetting of the intake walls or loss of fuel atomization. This will cause a very unstable/ueven running motor. Notice where the injectors are on a tii?

If you where to straighten out the runners for a more direct path to the valve - then you may have something worth looking into.
