Horsehair pads are available at Maximillians if you want to keep the stock seats. IMHO, the stock seats are not very comfortable, I'd try and find a good set of 320is recaro style seats. They are a direct down in replacement. The only problem is that good sets are getting extremely hard to find. A lot of people find a beat up set and get them reuphostered.

As for the FI system, the tii version is 100% mechanical, no computer to adjust the mixture, timing or idle speed. Altitude may had an effect on the idle mixture, etc. You didn't mention where in Texas you are. Regardless, log on to the Houstan '02 website and inquire about a good '02 mechanic in your area.

Also check into Bob Murphy's tii registry. Bob has a newsletter and is a central clearing house for tii tech info. You can find his e-mail address on the CNPR website (www.justbmws.com) in the '02 section.
