Paul,

It sounds as though the filter head assembly is warped. Since this is a cast part this can happen quite easily. I would back out all of the bolts, then torque them all to the same degree, around 10 inch-pounds, not foot-pounds or poun-feet. If this does not cure the leak see if the mating surface of the filter head assembly can be surface-machined if it is indeed warped.

: I have been parking my '02 too close to Jaguars and Triumphs! It has developed a nasty little oil leak and I wonder if others have had this problem - possible solutions...


: The upper most bolt that affixes the filter head to the block is leaking rather rapidly - I tried removing, cleaning, checking for cracks - still leaks! I even used some thread sealer to keep the oil from travelling through the bolt threads - no luck!
