: I have an oppurtunity to get a '76 'o2 that is in descent shape for next to nothing. I am concerned about the Ca smog issue. How much trouble is it to pass the smog test with a '76? It does have the thermal reactors still attached but I think everthing else is gone.
: Thanks

Go with the seller to a legit smog station and find out how much it is going to cost to get it legally smogged. Remember that it is the seller's responsibility to get the car legally smogged before the vehicle is sold. Make sure the thermal reactor, gulp valve, air pump, EGR filter, EGR valve and all accompaning valves, hoses and belt are in tact. You should demand that the seller deduct this from the selling price. (You may be able to find good working smog parts at the pick-your-parts for cheaper.) If the seller is unwilling to do this, walk away!
