3.0 coupe vs. 2002 Advice?? (archive)

I have been a 2002 owner for the past 10 years or so and have found them to be incredibly fun and satisfying to drive as well as work on.

I find myself in a "too good to be true" position where a friend of a friend is looking to find a "nice home" for his 3.0 csi.

Can anyone share experiences w/ me comparing the two. I have lusted over the coupes fine lines for years and I know their reputation as rust buckets, but can compare the 2 in terms of ease of repair, drivability, parts cost etc.
