: Do not buy anything from Rick Haner in California. He has a page on the web ring. He took almost a year to deliver my engine, and trans and provided old clapped out parts as "rebuilt -ready to run" examples. I hope no one elese lives through the horror!

Well....that is news to me...
I have built for this gentleman a GT3 spec motor...and a rebuilt close-ratio 5 spd...which had 8000 original miles on it to start with...I sold this transmission to the original owner in 1980 !...and it was a very nice one...
The engine consisted of the following...the block was align honed, decked, bored, and the entire lower end assy, includung, crank, rods, pistons, rings, wrist pins, rod brgs, lightened 320 flywheel and clutch assy.. were balanced
This was coupled wih 11:5 to 1 hepolite pistons
sealed power rings,lghtened,re-sized and re-bushed rods...the head had the full alpina radius done to the combustion chambers, new guides.new
schrick 316 cam and springs...it also had an un-counterweighted 2 litre crank..Also supplied were a set of 45DCOE weber carbs, originally run on Peter Herkes'trans am 2002 from the 70's,and a set of real BMW 2 litre
side draft manifolds, and finally a baffled 4 door oil pan with windage tray...
The transmission as I said was an 8000 mile original that had been gone through to freshen it.. also purchased was a 3:91 Lsd shimmed up to
40%..new bearing and clutches added...this enitre process was begun in March of this past year...
as I remember things..they were shipped in sept..not a year later..
the freight invoice and original e-mails will bare this out if anyone is intrested...
Strangely enough..there was no word to me about these parts being " all clapped out"as stated.I stand behid my work 100%.. if there should be a problem..yet..instead of coming to me.you choose to post things on the list...things that aren't even true...
I am shocked..and saddened that I had to hear about this posting from a third party..and I say up front on this list...if you have a problem..you know how to reach me..but just in case, here is all my info for you or anyne who would like to discuss this further....e-mail [email protected] [email protected],phones 707-588-8717,or 8716..fax 707-588-8715..I stand behind my work...
and I also will say that I will dis-assemble any one or all of these components...in front of you...or anyone that would like to see what is inside..at my exspense...to show you that there ia absolutely nothing but very nice parts and machine work inside everything I have done...
Thank god there are 2 sides to every story...if you in fact have a problem...how about instead of printing slanderous material on the internet, that you call me and discuss whatever issue you have..man to man ???...I will wait to hear from you...
