The 1600-2 and 1602 have different braking systems for all years. I've never heard of a setup not using a vacuum booster for power brakes.
As far as I know, the early 1600-2s have either one or two small remote boosters, which have their own bleeder valves. The later 1600-2s have the 2002 booster, but use a different master cylinder (for single line front brake calipers), and then maybe the latest 1602s had 2002-style brakes.
Let me know if you can send pictures if possible, I have some friends with 1600s and we'd love to see this.

: The 1600 that I mentioned earlyer looks like any other 1600... or 2002 for that mater. I was working at a friends shop in Fla. and I had to move his car to get mine out. I got in and low and behold!!!!!! Pedels that swung from the top. As I said it didn't have power brakes and the whole thing was different. My friend never owned one of these cars before and didn't know they came any other way.
