There was an article in the Roundel last year about someone going in circles with a 320i. The Pintos and Vegas didn't like it, so some rule changes occured because of it. Apparently, he was quite successful. The 320 may be a better choice 'cause it's newer (easier to find body parts, etc.), but it has nearly the same running gear as the 2002. BMW engines punched out to 2.3 liters are not too uncommon.
