He recommended making your own speaker boxes and velcroing them to the top of hat tray. Unfortunately, this only works with smaller (5.25 or 6.50) speakers.

One must be careful with speakers that are not fastened down. In days gone by in my )2 equipped with a 10 speaker system driven by 3 amps I was cold cocked by an alpine 6X9, 2 nanoseconds after the completion of a head on collision.

A 6 lb speaker comming at you close to 50mph is not a pretty sight.
