I'm looking for an aftermarket exhaust to buy for my '71. What types have people had good/bad luck with?
: : I currently run a header with a stock resonator and muffler I bought from Zygmunt. My problem is I keep getting stress cracks at the bottom of header. The header is not new but is not a rusty piece of junk either. I welded up the leaks Someone suggested worn motor mounts so I changed them too. Now I have cracks once again. Has any one used top end strut brace and torque strap? Is it worth the money? I don't want to have to but another header but I'm getting high off the cracks.

: I had that problem on my '72. What worked for me was a short section of flexible pipe right behind the header. It looks like braided stainless steel. The flex pipe absorbs all my motor's bad vibes and no more cracking! Most muffler shops can fix you up.

: best of luck
