Anti-freeze problem (archive)

My temperature gage went all the way to red. I stopped the car, but no smoke or steam coming from under the hood. When I opened the hood, anti-freeze was everywhere. The hoses are new, thermostat, water pump, everything under the hood is new!!!. My mechanic thinks it could be the radiator cap, which it's also new. The hoses were not loose. What could be the problem?
