Here's a no welding possibility.

Because no welding, and no drilling of the floor
was possible, my mechanic did came with that solution, and NO he won't charge you to use it.

He put an angle iron bar between the already
existing trans\crossmember brackets and the al-
ready existing driveshaft bearing brackets.
One bar on each side.
So it give you a support for the shortened trans-
crossmember.

I don't have more details, the car/trans. is still
under construction, but he did use this system on
his own car, the system receive Lee approval (some
kind of TUV 02 approval), and you don't have to
play, in and out with the transm. just to take
measurement.
And no drilling and welding.
