brake pedal action...free or stiff when .... (archive)

disconnected from the booster? My brake pedal is stiff,& will not bounce back. My booster is dry when I peek inside (after removing the master cylinder)..maybe my Wiper resevoir has leaked on the linkage and "frozen" it ??.
All this coincides with the 320i rear brake upgrade..(hmm)

:Just bought a used 528 master cylinder..any way to test it prior to installation? or just spend the $60 for a rebuild kit?
