: The infamous seatbelt interlock system as mandated by the government safety geeks was introduced in 1974. The fasten seatbelt billboard was an integral to the system. As the original owner of my 74 2002, I remember all the grief this system caused and the irate owners. The government finally relented in 75 and allowed dealers to disable the system. Mine had been disabled by myself early on. I dont need no steenkin fed to tell me to wear my seatbelt.
