Just go to any auto parts store and buy a long piece of heater hose. Use the same clamps that are on your existing hoses going from the block to the heater core. Run the new heater hose from your inlet and outlet points on your block and bypass the heater core. No problem, now you can spend the next few days getting the heater core fixed. And you can still drive your car around with the heater core bypassed. After you take the heater box out, take your heater core to your local radiator shop to get fixed. Check your floorboard, I had water seeping behind the carpet and getting under the insulation and slowly rusting my floorpan. I had to strip all the sound insulation to attack the rust. Don't delay, check it out quickly. Been there, done that.
