Actually, I didnt have to replace the ring, although the dealer should have one. I used some contact cleaner solvent to remove the gunk on the ring. The bigger problem I had was to ensure the spring loaded contact (coming thru the wheel), was constantly making contact. I think the black plasctic sleeve that holds it in place is cracked because it moves in and out and the contact was not touching the ring. I put a dab of silicone on the front side of that spring loaded contact to keep it from moving.

We'll see how long it lasts. It seems to be fine.
