The first NYC-area gathering (we gotta come up with a catchier name next time...) is history. Fewer cars than expected turned out - 7 at our high point. Weather wasn't bad, if a bit cool, but at least it wasn't raining. After the obligatory looking over of everyone's cars, we set off from FDR toward Cold Spring. Unfortunately one of our group had an incident coming into town, causing enough front-end damage to render the car undriveable. He and another member of our little group stayed to deal with the aftermath, while the rest of us headed across the river to blast around a bit more. Despite a near-miss encounter with one of New York State's finest, we did about another 40 minutes or so of spirited driving before pulling off and calling it a day.
Thanks to everyone who turned out - I had a great time, and I hope we'll do this again sometime soon.
