Thanks for the info. Your nightmare scenario will stay with me as I swap out the brake lines. I was mucking around with wheels off today and came to suspect rubber lines too.
How long did your trans function after auto-x incident before you had to pull it? Maybe I'll get a 5-speed conversion for my birthday in June.
