: I attempted the 32/36 conversion this morning and am needing everyone's advice/expertise.
:
: #1 - The carb wants to die/starve out at approximately 2500rpm (the carb gasps). Not sure of the reason. When I put down the secondary by hand it will rev up above 2500 but the primary gasps again (best way I can describe it). Any thoughts?
:
: Right now the Primary says 160 secondary says 165. Are these correct? Those in the bowl are the same size (can't remember what they are).
: What is the correct jetting for a stock motor(at least I assume it is stock)?
:
: #2 - On my old air cleaner there was a breather hose that went from the valve cover to the 1 barrel K&N air cleaner. The 2 barrel K&N I bought does not have a place to hook up the breather. What do I do with this hose now? Is there a breather I can put on the valve cover?
:
: #3 - My old Weber 1 barrel had a wire running from the coil to the carb. The 32/36 does not have a place to hook this wire up. Any idea what this is? Do I need it? If so, not sure what I would do with it. Advice?
:
: #4 - Am I correct in thinking the support bracket for the manifold attaches to the back of the starter? I need to fabricate this piece.
:
: Sorry to overwhelm you all with questions. I hope you can give me some direction. Your expertise is appreciated.

: 68 Project - wishing it would run
Is it a 1600 or a 2002? 118 head? just curious because i did this on my 68 1600 recently.
You can put a piece of hose on the valve cover vent and run it down past the starter towards the ground/or put a little breather right on at the cover.
the wire running to the carb before was probably for an electric idle jet, if your 32/36 has no tab for it at the idle jet on the primary side you dont need it.
If its for the electric choke (if you have that carb) you do need it.
The jetting is a big variable depending on how your motor is set up.
I think i have it setup like this for the 1600;
primary secondary
main 140 145
air 165 170
idle 55 50
i may play with the mains and airs more because i get a hesitaion sometimes too but it may be the later 2002 manifold on the 118 head doing that.
good luck Brian
