: You could do it a few ways.

: The simplest, easiest fix is to purchase & install the later-style ball jointed linkage pieces from a number of suppliers (Top End, korman, JAM Engineering, Ireland eng., Mesa, etc.)

: If you want to take the opportunity to eliminate an inferior and potentially dangerous part of your car, consider converting to a cable linkage.

: My '02 has a mechanical clutch linkage, and the pushrod going to the clutch lever travels right next to the lower throttle linkage; when they interfere it starts to get real interesting. If you were to have a catastrophic engine mount failure, a mechanical linkage coud stick.

: Top end sells a kit for $99, pretty steep. If I weren't lazy I'd probably make my own setup.

My '76 had the Weber 32/36 done with no linkage problems as far as I know. It was about 15 years ago, I just got the car, and I had a shop do the conversion, but I did not buy any linkage parts. Look for some junkyard '76 to see if the linkage is the same as yours.

I think that you do not need to worry about spending the $99 on a cable linklage on a '76. We have hydraulic clutches.
