Hi,
the way you explained it sounds like you have
it in just right. make sure that the top of
the shoe is in the notch behind the rubber cap
for the wheel cylinder, and that it is centered
up and down. i am figuring that you did some
brake work like install new shoes. if so make
sure that the adjusters are turned to their
loosest position and ONLY after you install the
drum then bleed the brakes untill clean fluid
shows. as you asked in your note there is no
locking tab or mechanical lock.
