Hi,
if your car runs without any serious problems
and all you are trying to do is get the best
setting for performance. the best way to set
is to run the motor at 2200-2500rpm, this is
where the dist is maxed out for the duration of the engine operation above that rpm. turn the
dist w/vac hose attached slowly turn the dist
clock wise untill motor runs worse then turn
counter clockwise to its best run ie: smooth
no miss, even running. now tighten dist bolt
and test drive if you get engine ping or rattling
turn dist in clockwise direction in small
amounts untill no more ping occurs.
last part of setting, turn off motor and wait 10
to 15 min. now try to restart if the motor is hard
starting, again turn dist clockwise untill the
motor starts better.
