A/C Compressor upgrade (archive)

I am restoring a '74 tii with the Behr A/C unit. It has the York compressor and I have read that a substitute can be used in its place that is more reliable. My ? is, Which compressor makes a good substitute and Where can I find a mount for it? I would rather not have to fabricate a mount if I don't have to. I searched the arhcives without any luck. Is there anyone out there that can give me some advice?
