Ok, so as I said, the car wouldnt keep an idle unless the choke was pulled all, and I mean all the way out, holding a somewhat smooth idle at around 2 to 2500 rpm, I tried to cut a little off of the choke, and I could get the idle down , but it would dip down to 500 then rev itself back to 1.5 or 2, then dip then rev, then dip sometimes dying on the dip end:( I lerched it up to a mechanic at around 5pm as they were leaving, and they told me to check all of the vacume hoses, which I did, and they were old but looked fine. Anyway, like I said so I was driving, and wanted to see if it would pull out of its slump, I pushed in the clutch and it ran perfect, nice smooth idle, nice smooth pick up. I dont know if this is related, but the night before when I hit the gas hard, all of the lights and heater fan dimmed. I just figured it was a seperate alternator problem... is it? Just another part to order ;)
Thanks for all of the help your spitting out.
nathan 72 2002.
