Have seen this exactly on my 69 02 before and only "fixed" it after messing with the light switch. I only unscrewed it and tried to push it in to remove it, but then I stoped and reinstalled it. I have read in these archieves somewhere about this problem being related to the light switch or the turn signal switch. I think my problem is with the light switch as my lic. plate lights and marker lights stayed on. I think I got luckey and the switch became "unstuck." I plan on replacing it when the problem resurfaces.

Good luck and please post your results as I am curious if this is truely the fix.
